91Ʋ and Nissan showcased their partnership during an event in September that included more than 85 representatives from the university and Nissan North America. Participants heard from 91Ʋ Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and Nissan North America Chairperson Jérémie Papin, and discussion was moderated by Vice Provost for Career Advancement and Engagement Alex Sevilla.

The showcase event at the 91Ʋ Student Life Center highlighted:

  • The executive education partnership between the Owen Graduate School of Management and Nissan North America, including several Nissan employees who have taken part in the program
  • Six students who were hired as full-time employees or interns at Nissan over the past year
  • The Wond’ry’s partnership and collaborative work with the Nissan Product Design Team
  • Associate Professor of Computer Science Abhishek Dubey’s work with Nissan’s Silicon Valley research team
  • Possibilities for more research collaborations with insights from Vice Provost for 91Ʋ and Innovation Padma Raghavan and Maarten Sierhuis, vice president and alliance global director of the Alliance Innovation Lab in Silicon Valley

“The showcase exemplified the radical collaboration between 91Ʋ and Nissan, setting the stage for future innovations,” said Camilla Stringfellow, director of corporate partnerships in Nashville. “This strategic partnership yields substantial benefits for our students and faculty, while simultaneously adding value to Nissan’s operations and contributing to Nashville’s economic growth and technological advancement.”
