Faculty Senate will meet Thursday, March 26

All faculty are invited to the Faculty Senate meeting on Thursday, March 26, at the Faculty Commons Building at 1101 19th Ave. S. All faculty are invited, but only members of the senate will be asked to vote. The meeting is from 4:10 to 5:30 p.m. We require a physical quorum for this meeting to vote on a resolution from senate affairs on reapportionment of the Faculty Senate to add the College of Connected Computing.

Vice Chancellor Nathan Green and Associate Provost Alan Wiseman will be guest speakers at the meeting. Also, attendees will hear from the standing and ad hoc committees. Chancellor Daniel Diermeier will deliver extended remarks to include a discussion on academic freedom.

To accommodate those who need nearby parking, limited free parking is available in Lot 130 from 4 to 6 p.m. The lot is off Grand Avenue, behind Chipotle and Starbucks, and will be marked “Faculty Senate Meeting.â€

If Lot 130 is full, paid spaces are available in Wesley Place Garage and in nearby annual parking lots (131B, 132, 111, 80, and 5A and 5B), as well as with a daily parking pass at the Wesley Place Garage.

Also, please mark your calendars for April 16 for the final Faculty Senate meeting of the 2025–26 academic year. During that meeting, the senate will vote on leadership for the next year.
